It was one of the biggest things I had considered even before I had got engaged - a wedding photographer. Having seen a lot of different wedding photos, I knew I was looking for a photographer with a very unique style. My husband hates having his photo taken and I wasn't so keen on standing for hours having hundreds of group photos on a day we wanted to enjoy with our guests. I loved the natural shots. The secret smiles, the warm embraces and loving gazes that no posed picture could capture.
When I found Martin Bell, I'd been looking at a friend's wedding photos online and instantly became taken by the love story that unfolded in every photo. I knew I had to meet him. We scheduled a meeting and after seeing his portfolio and discussing the type of photos we wanted we knew he was the photographer to document our day.
With a history in ballet, he has a great skill of reading body language and being in the right place at the right time without being too obstrusive. Our wedding guests said he floated in and out and you barely knew he was there.
On the big day Martin was faced with quite a challenge that makes every photographer's job that much harder! The weather! It was far from a summery August day that we'd hoped for in our beautiful converted barn but despite the horrible drizzly weather, Martin captured some really beautiful moments throughout the day. In a brief break of the weather he snuck us down to the pond with its stunning surroundings and got us to dance in the rain. It was a brief magical moment away from our guests, to take the day in and really appreciate what we’d just shared. A romantic moment I’ll never forget.
Martin captured every detail and left us with some stunning emotive photographs that we'll treasure forever. Martin Bell is a superstar and I can't recommend him enough. His passion for photography and ability to read emotion and capture those magical moments make him a one of a kind photographer. No wonder he has just won The Wedding Industry Awards South Central Wedding photographer of the year 2018! Massive congratulations Martin!
